What type of post partum care does your midwife offer?

Whether you’re a first or fourth time mom, the initial days and weeks following delivery are crucial, and often, overwhelming. Our midwife offers practical and emotional support to facilitate the most successful postpartum period for every patient. Specific service may include:

     •   Help with breastfeeding

       Monitoring post delivering healing

       Family planning and contraception consultation

Can your midwife prescribe birth control?

Yes. She provides birth control counsel and well as administers birth control, including:

  • Birth control pills
  • Intrauterine device (IUD) placement (both hormone and copper types)
  • Depo-Provera shots

What type of training does a midwife have?

Midwives have extensive education in women’s health. After earning an undergraduate degree, they most complete a three-year master of science program and pass a licensing test, administered by the state.
